If you’re in any doubt about the notion that the love of your life might literally be around the next corner, take faith from a story shared by a Radio 5 listener called Louise, who rang in to share the incredible story of how she came to be engaged to the ‘hottie’ she met on a speed awareness course in South Shields.
On arriving at her speed awareness course, Louise checked in on Facebook to tell her friends what she was up to. When she got out of the course, a friend had replied to her post asking how her day had gone. She replied: “A little bit boring, but I’ve been sat by this hottie for four hours so it made it a little bit more interesting.”
Thinking nothing more of it, Louise took herself off to bed and was surprised to wake up in the morning to a text message from an unknown number claiming to be the speed awareness ‘hottie’. She assumed it was a friend winding her up, but then she received a call from a taxi driving friend who claimed he’d just picked up a man who’d been telling him about a girl he’d been sat next to on a speed awareness course, and how he was now kicking himself for not having got her number to ask her out for a drink.
The taxi driver mentioned how funny it was to hear that, since he’d just seen that his friend Louise had just been sharing a similar story on Facebook. You can probably work out what happened next.
Well Louise and the hottie soon met up for a drink, and not long after, following a romantic trip to Jamaica, they moved in together. One year later they’re engaged, and just three days after the proposal, Louise discovered that she’s pregnant.
As Louise says: “Never stop looking [because] there’s always somebody there for everyone.”
Great advice to keep in mind, along with ‘watch your speed, folks’!
