Heinz and Fortnum & Mason launch ketchup-flavoured truffles just in time for Valentine’s Day!

As professional matchmakers, the team at Flame Introductions is always curious to hear about unusual combinations that work despite the odds.

Sometimes, it’s the couplings that raise eyebrows – think Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas, Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum, hummus and chips – that turn out to be the strongest unions (granted, hummus and chips might just be us).

The jury, however, is still out on this particular pairing. Chocolate truffles get a big thumbs up from us. Tomato ketchup – equally well loved in the Flame office. But putting tomato ketchup in the centre of a chocolate truffle? That’s just a waste of a good truffle, if you ask us.

Their heart-shaped box goes a little way to convince us that this could be a Valentine’s delight that we weren’t expecting. And the fact that Heinz and Fortnum & Mason have partnered up on the creation. And yes ok, ketchup and chocolate are two of the nation’s most loved foods (see, we read the press release in full!). And, of course, as professional matchmakers we ALWAYS keep an open mind.

But if you’re wondering what to send us this Valentine’s Day, we’ll settle for a KitKat, thanks.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all the singletons out there who are still waiting for love. If you’d like to find out more about our professional matchmaking service and how it can help you find that special someone, leave us a message here and we’ll be in touch very soon.
