Bride invents brilliant hack from IKEA bag ahead of her big day

Every bride wants her big day to be perfect. For some, that means looking like a princess in the all-important dress. For others it means picture perfect table decorations. But for one canny bride, the most important thing was that she was able to wee without ruining her dress – and the solution she found is pure genius.

Writing on an IKEA hack blog, the new bride revealed that one of her biggest fears ahead of the big day was how she was going to go for a wee without dragging her wedding dress across a toilet floor. Cos when a girl's got to go, she's got to go, and there might not always be a bridesmaid to hand to help you hold up your meringue as you let the champagne take its course.

“Well, I got married a few weeks ago (in a mermaid wedding dress) and I was really worried about going to the bathroom and not being able to … handle myself,” wrote Tina on ikeahackers.net.

“Someone helping or watching me going to the bathroom on my wedding day? Not being able to have free hands to use the toilet paper? NO WAY!” she continued.

The hack involved cutting a whole in an IKEA bag, then wiggling it up to thigh level and pulling the straps over the shoulders in order to create a hammock for the dress, keeping it off the floor and away from the wee!

Best of all it cost less than $1, and though Tina didn't say so, it probably also counted as her something blue!
