They say that love strikes when you’re least expecting it. And that’s certainly true for 30-year-old Bristol woman, Amethyst Realm (possibly not her real name).
She was in Australia on business when she decided to enjoy her downtime by going on a nature hike. It was here that she met the man of her dreams. Except he wasn’t actually out walking, because he doesn’t have legs, and he can only loosely be described as male, given the fact that he’s not of this orbit.
Amethyst says she came into contact with an apparition and felt sparks like never before. Even though she’d had flings with up to 20 ghosts as a teenager, this felt different. And so it was with a heavy heart that she boarded the plane back to the UK, knowing as she did that spirits tend to stay in one place. But then something amazing happened: she felt the presence of her lover on board with her.
“I couldn’t believe it. I was happy and excited—so excited that we had to do something about it. So we headed to the plane loo...And, well, I am now a member of the Mile High Club,” she told one newspaper.
Nine months on and the relationships is going from strength to strength. On a recent date to England’s Wookey Hole caves, Amethys’s spooky other half popped the question.
“There was no going down on one knee—he doesn’t have knees. But for the first time, I heard him speak,” she said. “I could actually hear his voice, and it was beautiful. Deep, sexy and real.”
“Ghost lovers tend to be more sensual and adept than the average bloke,” she explained. “There’s always more of a connection, because the sex goes beyond physical. It’s like any other kind of sex. The main difference is I just can’t see them.”
We’re happy for Amethyst, but we can’t help but think there are benefits to having a relationship with someone visible to the naked eye. If you’re looking for a more earthly kind of love affair, tell us your details and we’ll be in touch soon with details of our professional matchmaking service.
