The Undateables is back for series 5 in 2016!

The acclaimed Channel 4 show The Undateables featuring Flame Introductions' founder Christine is back for 2016!

The first episode will air at 9pm on 4th January 2016 on Channel 4 and will feature Christine and the team at Flame Introductions as they set about helping a new team of contributors hoping to find love.

A PREVIEW OF THE FIRST EPISODE

One of the contributors to appear on The Undateables, Tammy Saunders (featured in the below video) is taking part in the show in the hope of finding someone to share her life with. Two years ago the 34-year-old suffered life-threatening blood poisoning as a result of contracting meningococcal septicaemia, which caused her limbs to swell to twice their size and her kidneys to fail.

When her nose and lips went completely black, doctors were forced to deliver the news that her skin would never recover, something Saunders dealt with with remarkable bravery.

"I couldn’t compute it was me,” she said, “but I was determined to remain positive. I thought that while it may look horrendous now, it would get better. More than anything I was grateful to be alive.

"I applied to be on The Undateables because I was trying to hold on to as much of the old me as I could. I don’t want to be alone forever and I want to find someone who loves me for me. I am the same me whether I have 50 operations on my face or none."

Tammy appears on the first episode of series 5 with Gary, a bicycle engineer from Norfolk.

THE UNDATEABLES' JAMES AND TAMMY LOOK FOR LOVE | ITV'S THIS MORNING

Tammy and James from Channel 4's The Undateables Series 5 join Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for a chat on the This Morning sofas.

ALSO LOOKING FOR LOVE...

Someone else looking for love on the show is 22-year-old James, who says that there isn’t a word in the English language that describes just how much he’d love to have a girlfriend. James has Asperger Syndrome and says that his condition has meant he’s never had a second date.

"I have problems knowing how to behave around girls. I’m a bit quirky and that’s not for everyone. Primarily it’s because I can’t read people. One of the problems with Aspergers is not being able to read facial expressions and I am very bad at that. You can’t tell if they’re interested in what you’re saying. That probably puts a lot of people off."

"I’m looking for a girl who is friendly, a nice person and I can have a conversation with about interests we have in common."

"IT SHOWS THAT NO MATTER WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE OR WHO YOU ARE, WE ALL JUST WANT TO FIND SOMEBODY WHO LOVES US FOR US."

Tammy Saunders discusses The Undateables

Channel 4’s Lucy Leveugle said: "The universal theme of love continues to see viewers engage with disability. We are all extremely proud of The Undateables' legacy with proposals and weddings."

Kathleen Larkin, The Undateables’ Executive Producer added: "We are extremely proud of the show. It provides an honest portrayal of love and dating through the experiences of those living with a disability and has challenged misconceptions."
