As Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games, actor Sam Claflin is more fighter than lover. But the tale of how he met his real-life wife is straight out of a Hollywood rom-com.
While he was reading for a part in the movie, A Week With Marilyn, Claflin kept spotting a “Hollywood stunning” actress in the audition room. It was love at first sight, and after catching sight of her flicking through a script, Claflin picked up the phone to his agent and announced that he’d just met the woman he was going to marry.
The one slight problem was that he hadn’t actually met the woman at all. Too struck by her beauty he hadn't the guts to make a move, and left without saying a word.
But fate intervened and the following morning, on his way home from a party and still wearing the same clothes, the doors of Claflin’s tube carriage opened and there she was. Most young men might have taken this as a sign and taken a chance, but Claflin once more left without a word.
