Hot dog vans, origami flowers, turtle dove ring bearers... with every wedding season comes a new wedding trend. But the latest big day fashion will take some beating in the quirky stakes.
It's llamas for rent. Yes, you read that right. US brides and grooms determined to really make their nuptials stand out from the crowd are ensuring that a llama in fancy dress is around for the vows.
Now the idea of garland-wearing animals being mauled by a roomful of tipsy wedding guests is one that leaves us a bit queasy. But we have to admit that the four-legged fur balls in this video look as if they're relishing the attention lavished on them by the wedding party.
And we were pretty much sold when we found out that all proceeds from the hire-a-llama organisation covering Portland, Oregano and Vancouver, Washington, are invested in a centre that trains llamas to provide therapy to people in hospitals, schools and homes for the elderly who are in need of a bit of llama love.
Apparently the llamas are as affectionate and calming on the nerves as they are hilarious and photogenic. The video below must be seen to be believed!
