Staggering fact about Prosecco number one: Us Brits currently consume a whopping third of the entire world's output.
Staggering fact about Prosecco number two: It's taken until 2018 for London to get its own all-Prosecco bar.
Thankfully this bubbly blunder has now been rectified. Prosecco House can be found at London Bridge and currently boasts a menu of more than 26 varieties of Prosecco (best not to attempt all 26 in one sitting). Each variety of the new national drink, all of which comes from Northern Italy, is served by the wine glass, which apparently makes the aromas easier to catch than when drank from a flute.
With a walk-in policy for couples, this is the perfect venue to pop a cork before a romantic stroll along the river or a dinner at nearby Borough Market—though there are a few Italian snacks on the menu to stop all those bubbles going to your head.
