Step aside Christine Flame, there's a new love queen in town! World famous singer Adele has taken a brief hiatus from creating chart-topping hits...to dabble in wedding planning.
The singer's side project was revealed by her friend Alan Carr when he appeared on This Morning to promote his new game show, casually dropping into conversation that when he recently married his long term partner Paul, the 'Somebody Like You' songwriter played a rather integral affair in the do.
"[We got married] in Adele's back garden...in L.A," he told she stunned presenters. "She's known me and Paul for ages and she said 'I want to do your special day, let me do everything'."
Turns out that the singer even went as far as getting ordained so that she could marry the pair herself. Alan also revealed that she sang the couple's first dance, though he wouldn't reveal the track.
"It was the best day of my
life. She did the whole day. She is the kindest, most sweetest, loveliest person ever. What you see is what you get. I just want to tell everyone. She won’t say because she’s
so private. Flowers, three-course meal, she just planned it all."
As if all that wasn't enough, there was a wedding gift too: Flights to Vegas and tickets to see Celine Dion sing.
And just in case you were wondering if Carr was having a bit of a comedy moment, Adele herself has since confirmed the story via her Instagram account, writing, along with a picture of her ordainment get-up, "Seeing as the cats out the bag. I married two of my best
friends in January. You know me any excuse to dress up..."
